High technology and 95 years of tradition, this is Radio Katowice, the biggest regional radio station in Poland. 7 days a week, 24 hours a day millions of listeners in the whole Upper Silesia region can be tuned in to Radio Katowice. We also can be heard in parts of Central, Eastern and Western Poland, as well as in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. We are using four transmitters located in Katowice (102.2 FM and 101.2 FM), Bielsko-Biała (103.0 FM), Częstochowa (98.4 FM) and Racibórz (97.0 FM). From 1st October 2013 Radio Katowice started broadcasting a digital signal on DAB Plus.
We devote most of our airtime to matters that affect people living in our region. We offer information, editorials, full length features, sports, culture and of course good music. The educational programs are also a very important part of our broadcasts. In order to be closer to our broadcast audience we have four remote studios located in Bielsko-Biała, Częstochowa, Gliwice and Zawiercie. Radio Katowice is the principle organizer and patron of many important events such the Silesian dialect contest "Po naszymu czyli po śląsku" or the national spelling test "Dyktando". Their popularity is growing every year. Radio Katowice prides itself with their staff of professional journalists. Many of them have been awarded with Polish and international broadcasting awards including The Golden Microphone and The Prix Italia.
We are also known for our wide assortment of musical recordings. Some records produced by Radio Katowice reached the "The Golden Record" status. Our professional recording studio is one of the most technologically and acoustically advanced facilities in Southern Poland. Leszek Możdżer, "Myslovitz" and "The Silesian Quartet" recorded their hits in our recording facility.
